And I always thought those drawings were colored by copic markers...
Comics and books have lied to me.

I really like your style. Thanks for sharing this; it's very helpful! (*^^*)  I’m also curious if you were to add a more complex background, do you still use the same layer to color it in?

Thanks so much! :) Yes, I still usually only colour on one layer. However, in the sketch and rough colour stage of a complex background, I make it much more detailed and refined so I don't have to paint over it or clean it up too much later, and so it won't look pillowy. Hope that makes sense! :)

Oh, I see. Yes it makes sense. I've been wanting to draw and color more complex backgrounds in my drawings, but I'm not so great at it. So when I look at yours I'm like "how can I do that? (*m)" Anyways, thanks again.

I just love your style but I kind stuck at no. 4, somehow the colour don't appear? can't you explain it more detail, I'm a bit confuse

Thanks! The colour doesn't appear? Hm... as in, does it not show up very clearly or it doesn't make any mark at all? You might have missed out the step of filling in the layer white with the Bucket tool. Otherwise it could be a glitch in your program... I'm not really sure how to help, I'm sorry! :(

Thank you! I'm glad you found it helpful and that it's clear, I was worried no one would understand it. >_< I had to look closely because you've made the colouring so much like traditional media, something I can't seem to do. XD You did a great job! ^_^
You're welcome, thanks for trying it out! <3
