:star:FAQ:star:

If you have a question, feel free to mention it and I'll include it. :)

What program do you use to colour?
Paint Tool SAI.

What processes do you go through / what brushes and textures do you use?
For answers to these questions, please check out my step by steps here: [link] and here: [link]

Have you made any tutorials?
See above. :)

Where can I get Paint Tool SAI?
You can download the English-language trial version here: [link] and buy the product license here: [link]

Do you know a way to get SAI for Mac? / Do you know an alternative program to make .gifs apart from Photoshop?
Sorry, I don't! :( Google is your best source for answers here haha. xD

How old were you when you started drawing?
I started drawing at an early age, but starting drawing seriously when I was about 14 or so.

What is your art education? Are you self-taught?
I got a GCSE in Fine Art when I finished high school, and about a year and a half's basic animation... other than that I am an uneducated hack. u_u And yes... I'm not really much to be proud of, I'm bad at studying in a classroom as I get bored and distracted. I have to learn in my own free time, at my own pace (which is pretty much 'skip everything boring, work on what you want to, haha.)

Do you have any advice for beginners/improvement?
Since I still consider myself very much both of these things I'll just say daily practice and life drawing helps me a LOT. :) Also, try to work outside of your comfort zone and draw whatever you feel comes naturally.

You draw a lot of fanart / you draw fanart of so many different things!
Y-yeah... I love drawing fanart of whatever has my interest at the moment. It's my way of channeling my love and obsession for whatever it is into something productive, and it becomes a sort of... personal time capsule of my fandom history. XD I rarely stay in a fandom for more than a year...

Who are your influences and inspirations?
On the internet: Just browse through my friends list. :)
In general: This is a bit outdated, but it's a basic depiction of my inspirations and such [link]

Are you a professional artist?
Nope... :iconpapcryplz:

Where do you live?
Currently marooned on the Isle of Wight, UK...

Why do you draw yourself looking like a Moomin / with little bumps on your head?
I overheard someone saying I looked like a Moomin, I don't know what they meant by that but I agree... thus Mumintroll me was born. :p

Are you going to publish any books/art? / Are you going to attend any UK conventions?
Soon... maybe... in the distant future... :iconlazycryplz:

How old are you?
I was born July 4th 1989 (you do the math! ;D *cries*)
:iconcrycryplz:

Are you planning to go to school?
I don't think I will, as I said before I don't like being in a school learning environment very much. I don't cope well with lots of writing and assignments. :( However, if had the money and the means I would love to go to CalArts. It's been my dream for years... u_u

Are you planning on a career in art?
I honestly can't say for sure what I want to do yet! :o

Thank you so much for putting answers here! By the way, I always thought that you have a brown hair x) And I think it's very nice that you drawing yourself as a Moomin, I find it very creative and very cute :aww:
Can I ask a personal question? I'm in a very difficult situation now, and I fear that desire to give up drawing haunts me more. I know that this question has been asked many times, but how did you created your own style of drawing? Currently I cant draw something of my own since the beginning of this year, and it is annoying me to tears, and all of this is due to the style. I like a lot of styles, but I can not decide with my own. I know that it must evolve with time, but when this is possible when you dont even know how to draw? I mean ... because people often draw eyes and facial expressions with their's own style, discretion, and not always in a realistic style, although I know that everything is based on it. Excuse me please, I hope it does not seem so stupid, just ... I very much hope that you will be able to recommend something. And thank you for your attention. My doubts relate in coloring as well, but I dont want to bother you with this one.

And oh oh i really wanted to ask this before, but do you miss your childhood, some of your ages, maybe? =)

No problem! ^^ My hair is dark blonde, almost brown I guess, it's got darker as I've got older. xD

I'm sorry for the late reply, I was trying to think of a good answer for you. I hope people will see it if they're wondering the same question. :)

Anyway, looking at your DA page, it says your 15 years old. You are still so young! Saying that though, when I was 15 I had the same problem as you, I was frustrated and feeling like my art wasn't going anywhere because it had no style. But trust me, your art IS going somewhere and will develop to suit you if you work hard!
I did not start developing a style until I was about 18 years old, before that I took a long time trying out different styles and techniques. I was stuck in a rut, trying and failing to draw in a style I couldn't do, when one day I said 'I'll just draw in a style I want to draw in' and something clicked in my brain, all because I let my instinct tell me what seemed right for me to draw. ^^;
I highly doubt anyone, unless they're really lucky, settles into a style when they're still 15! And you are already showing you do have your own style, which is already impressive. I guess all I can suggest is don't give up, just keep on doodling and sketching and practicing to build up your skills and taking in everything that inspires you. You'll find the style part will occur naturally over time, the product of your practice and influences. It's the same thing with colouring, only with me it seems to change all the time. o_o In art, there is no fixed point of 'I've arrived at the style I want' (at least not for me)... it's a maturing of your creative side which never really ends, and it's something you will have to accept. Despite being unhappy with your art a lot, being able to look back on what you've done and see how much you've developed is really rewarding.
Um well I hope that answers your question regarding that, it's a hard one and one I don't really know how to answer, but oh well. ^^;

Hehe, to be honest I don't really miss a lot of aspects of my childhood. xD; I guess I miss being able to get cool toys to play with. xD The things I miss most are children's TV shows, the quality of movies and music, the bad fashion trends and just the general era of the 90's before DVDs and iphones and proper internet and all that junk. ;D

Thanks for all the questions dear, chin up, you are awesome and I hope you start to enjoy art again soon. :tighthug:

Oh, firstly i want to say - thank you so much for answering! I know you're busy enough but i started to worry that my question sounded so stupid but now i'm relaxed =)
I turned 16 this month but i was too lazy to change it on my DA page all this time, gotta fix it now xD But yep, you're right anyway. I'm still young, so i think i just.. used to see some people my age had already found their own style, maybe it depresses me a bit, who knows? I know that they have started to draw long before but i just thought that.. well.. nothing much depends on time. But with your help i understood that i was wrong about that. Another reasons why it started to bother me in such young age is my health and my study in school, but i seriously don't want to give up because art and drawing always will be a good medicine for me, for us all. Gosh thank you so so much for answering me because i promise I WILL continue to practice more!! Your response really gave me a hope to get moving on! Thank you so much!! :glomp:
And thanks for this answer as well! ;D I just see how many people are starting to complain that they want to come back to their childhood, so i was wondering in someone's "who is adult enough" opinion 8) And moreover i started to growing up myself, you know... when somebody turns 16 x)

Thank you so much once again! You are truly wonderfull person. Wish you all the best!
