EDIT: Thank you SO MUCH for all the watches, faves and comments! :faint: I'm sorry I can't reply to them all... I do love ya though <3

1: Question: Do you think it's possible that drawing burns you out? I really need to know, as I've been feeling like this a LOT lately. I think it's because I can't seem to sleep, as I feel nervous and anxious all the time. I think it's affecting my drawing... Do you find that if you take a break from drawing you come back refreshed or out of practice? If you do take a break, how long is it for? I'd really be grateful for any personal experience or tips, I really don't want my art to become crappier because of this. XI

2. In two weeks time I'm going to be moving house... again... ( ´Д`) It's the second time this year and probably the 6th time in... 3 years? I know I don't post here so much (but I was planning to, really!!!), but I might disappear from November 1st seeing as the new place doesn't have the Internet as far as I know... and of course I cannot survive without the internet... OuO

3. I redesigned my website! It is now a gratuitous amount of black and purple and sparkles. *twiddles thumbs* =w= I seem to remember someone asked how I built my site, and all I can really say is that it's all just HTML in Notepad... echoecho.com has some nice tutorials on HTML and CSS website building.

And I uh don't know what else to write now... I hope you're all doing well! Toodles!
*flings self into bed*

That's very heartening to read, I'm always afraid of becoming rusty, but I suppose ultimately it is like riding a bike, and you never completely forget what you've learned... I'd rather not risk it by taking too long a break though. I think I should try and do the whole 'gather inspiration' thing... thank you for all the advice.

I get burned out all the time. For me, I tend to either take a couple days away from drawing, or work on drawing something completely different from my usual. Usually breaks me out of it.

I do find I can get burnt out on drawing, and the only thing that works for me is to stop altogether for a while. I just set it aside and do other things that inspire or interest me until I have such a strong urge to draw that I can't manage to do anything else until I draw. I do come back a little bit rusty, but nothing a few warm-up sketches doesn't solve. The quality of my art degrades along with my declining energy for it, anyway, so if I forced myself to keep going I'd produce worse things than when I'm getting back at it after a break.

I think I have the same thing, where it seems like the quality of my art is going down the more stressed I get... :I I think I might take the plunge and try not drawing for a while? Thank you for the advice~ ;u;

i don't have much experience, but...

i don't think drawing makes you feel that way, i think being stressed or depressed makes you feel that way about drawing.

whenever i feel that way, a focus-shift, like not thinking about drawing, actually hurts. what helps for me is a situation-shift, like... trying to make something happen? on a small scale for me that's washing the dishes or working in the garden...

...that's kind of just how i've been feeling recently, i probably don't have it
all worked out yet. ( = ^ = )

That probably is the reason, you're right... ><; It seems that IRL stuff and frustration all get smooshed together in my head...
Well I have a lot of packing to do so I should probably do that instead. :/ Thank you for answering, I hope you keep your art mojo flowing~ ;u;

I don't think it would do your tired self any harm to take a break from drawing! I've done it, and I find that inspiration strikes again soon! And it strikes hard! haha 8) Don't let your passion become a burden!
I draw to relieve my stress, and if it's the same for you, then I definitely advise you take a break and let yourself relax!

Oooh I hope I get some good inspiration! >< I draw to relieve stress too, but it feels like when you are under pressure to draw things for anything but a stress reliever it BECOMES stressful, if that makes sense... I really want to have fun drawing no matter what! :(
Thank you for the advice.
